Most ETA and eVisitor applications are finalised instantly, however, in a small number of cases, some additional processing checks are required. If your online visa has not been successful, you will receive a "refer to Embassy" message, in which case you should email the following documents to the relevant Australian Visa Office in China:
• bio-data page of your passport
• the reference number provided to you when you applied for your internet application
• your contact details (email address and telephone number)
• for children under 18 years of age, also required is a birth certificate, parental consent, parents' contact details and identification.
