Australian Police Clearance Certificates

You should contact the police authorities in Australia directly to arrange issue of an Australian police certificate.

The Australian Federal Police in Canberra can issue a National Police Clearance Certificate that covers criminal records in all states and territories, except Queensland . The AFP has advised that this certificate is acceptable in all countries. This acceptance should be confirmed by the client with the requesting local authority. Certificates can be issued either on the basis of name checks or on the basis of fingerprint checks and you should discuss which type of certificate you require with the with the requesting local authority.

State police services in Australia can also provide police record certificates that cover their own states and their details are provided in the State Police Services section.

You should confirm with the requesting authority which type of certificate is required.

Chinese Police Clearance Certificates

You should contact the local Public Security Bureau (PSB), Entry & Exit Office directly to obtain a police clearance certificate. We've contacted Beijing PSB on your behalf and were advised that they are able to issue this certificate only to foreign citizens who held a Chinese work visa . The steps to obtaining a Chinese Police Clearance Certificate are:

1. Contact your company(s) in Beijing and request a letter to confirm that you haven't been doing anything unlawful while working in the company (s).

2. You will then need to take the following documents to an authorised agency to obtain the certificate:

   a) the letter(s) from your company(s)

   b) the passport(s) with your Chinese work visas

   c) your current passport.

   d) a letter of authorisation (Please note you will need to authorise someone in Beijing to apply for this certificate on your behalf).
