About AEI China
Australian Education International (AEI) is the international arm of the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). AEI leads strategic policy, regulation and government-to-government engagement in international education. AEI facilitates the internationalisation of education in Australia and builds strategic international education and training relationships. AEI’s vision is for Australia to be recognised as a regional and world leader in education and training excellence and a partner of choice for international collaboration.
In the People’s Republic of China (PRC), Australian Education International (AEI) is represented at the Australian Embassy in Beijing and the Australian Consulates-General in Shanghai and Hong Kong (SAR). The AEI Beijing Office has overall responsibility for AEI’s activities in the PRC. It supports Australia’s engagement in international education and training in China through a wide range of activities such as: working with the relevant Ministries and Agencies of the PRC, supporting the activities of Australian education providers in China and providing strategic intelligence to Australian education providers on education and research developments in the PRC.

Applications for the 2012 round of the Endeavour Awards open on 1 April 2011
The Endeavour Awards is the Australian Government’s internationally competitive, merit-based scholarship program providing opportunities for citizens of the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas to undertake study, research and professional development in Australia. Awards are also available for Australians to undertake study, research and professional development abroad.
The Endeavour Awards aim to:
- Develop ongoing educational, research and professional linkages between individuals, organisations and countries;
- Provide opportunities for high achieving individuals to increase their skills and enhance their global awareness;
- Contribute to Australia’s position as a high quality education and training provider, and leader in research and innovation; and
- Increase the productivity of Australians through an international study, research or professional development experience.
The Endeavour Awards are a part of the Australia Awards initiative, which brings together, under a single recognisable brand, the Endeavour Awards run by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) and the Development Awards offered by AusAID. | Prime Minister’s Australia Asia incoming postgraduate Award The top 20 ranked doctoral applicants for the Endeavour Postgraduate Award from India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Republic of Korea, Singapore, The People’s Republic of China (including Hong Kong and Macau SARs), Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam will be offered the Prime Minister’s Australia Asia Incoming Postgraduate Award and its additional benefits, which include an additional AUD$35,000 and the opportunity to participate in an internship. |
