General Requirements
We encourage applicants to lodge complete applications, which include all required documents, as this allows us to process applications more quickly.
Complete Applications
A complete application is an application that includes all required documents when you first lodge your application, including police clearances. The required documents are detailed in the Checklist.
Complete applications can be processed more quickly than applications that do not include all requirements. Lodging a complete application means it is less likely that we will need to request further evidence or information, which delays processing. The Australian Visa Offices in Shanghai and Guangzhou are committed to processing complete applications as quickly as possible.
The checklist should be printed off, completed and all documents listed on the checklist attached in the order set out on the checklist.
You may also wish to attend an information session about preparing a Partner application, which are regularly held in Guangzhou and Shanghai. Details can be found via the following link – Partner Information Sessions
Presenting Your Documents
Please assist us to process your application as efficiently as possible. To facilitate quick registration, please remove any staples, binders, bulldog clips, paper clips, folders, plastic pockets and "post-it notes".
