Where to Apply
Applicants living in the following provinces should apply at the Australian Embassy in Beijing:
• Beijing, Chongqing, Gansu, Hebei, Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia, Jilin, Liaoning, Shandong, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Henan, Ningxia, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Tianjin, Qinghai, Xinjiang and Tibet.
Applicants living in the following provinces should apply at the Australian Consulate General in Shanghai:
• Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi and Hubei.
Applicants living in the following provinces should apply at the Australian Consulate General in Guangzhou:
• Guangdong, Fujian, Hunan, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, and Hainan.
How to Apply
We prefer that Business (Short Stay) applications are lodged with us by mail. Please send your application form, passport and supporting documentation by EMS to the relevant office. Postal addresses for our offices in China are listed on the Contact Us page.
Please ensure that you include a China Post money order receipt for the correct Visa Application Charge. For applications lodged in Beijing or Guangzhou, please also include an additional RMB 20 (RMB 23 in Guangzhou) to cover the EMS return of your passport and visa decision. Applications lodged in Shanghai will be returned by SF Express.
You may also apply for a visa in-person. If you apply in-person, you can pay your Visa Application Charge in RMB cash. Applying in person does not mean that your application will be processed faster than if you send your application by mail.
